The purpose of the project was the provision of draft solutions for national governance structures and institutional arrangements for the national day-ahead electricity market, fit to coupling with neighbouring markets in an optimal way in Macedonia. The service was carried out for the Energy Community Secretariat in Vienna, while the final local beneficiary was MEPSO, the Macedonian Transmission System Operator.
The project consisted of the following tasks:
1. Identification of possible models of the organisation and operation of the day-ahead market to be supported under the legal framework,
2. Evaluation of the possible solutions for the day-ahead market organisation and operation,
3. Drafting the proposal of the institutional setup for a day-ahead market and
4. Presentation of the overall outcome of the project (workshop).
This project is delivered under Technical Assistance to Connectivity in the Western Balkans, Component 2: Regional Energy Market, funded by the European Commission and implemented by the Energy Community Secretariat.
